String size?

I just ordered this guitar in Indian Rosewood. It will be here Wednesday. I can't wait. I was actually going to purchase a Martin until I found this guitar. We'll see what happens on Wednesday. Great video.

I’ve always wanted a Martin but couldn’t afford it. Playing a Guild for 30 years until the bridge started to separate and needed a neck reset . My cousin turned me in to Zager guitars . I bought their ZAGER 80 1,300 and am totally blown away by the tone , volume , balance , craftsmanship and superb neck angle and low action not to mention wonderful customer service . After a year playing it I had the chance to play a $ 5,100 Martin in a music store . No comparison ! Very nice guitar but my ZAD 80 blew it away in so many ways. I just could not justify 5 to 6 figures on up for the name . I’m thoroughly.pleased with my gorgeous 80 with its nice case for 1,300. I get a lot of compliments at our jam sessions .

thanks for affirmation I m going to get a used Alvarez md60bg today. I have a few martins, D42, OM28 Marquis, D18 and a D15M Burst, the D42, OM28 and D18 all have problems with their binding, really frustrating, unlike my ovation custom legend which I have it for 31 years no problem at all.

If you had to choose between the excellente and the IBG j200, which would you choose?

Very nice guitar. I just purchased a Norman b70 at an estate auction. The fine folks at Godin informed me that its a solid top, back and sides dreadnought made of Birdseye maple. A truly stunning instrument. Thank you for the rundown and history sir. Subscribed

The tone is clearly different. The Martin sounded a hair sweeter- not warmer - just rounder on the highs. The RK? -clearer and more even. Less muddy. For not being broken in, amazing. I owned a D18 back in the '70's. Very soulful. Not a great neck. $ 300 used at the time. So I appreciate Martin. But they have lost the plot on providing affordable guitars of real quality. At $649 or $ 799 US for the Recording King 318 or 328, no real competition now. Hard to even find a great used guitar at that price now.

People spend $50,000 on a car thats gonna last maybe 15 years that $14,000 Martin will last for 100s of years if you take care of it. I'm not rich but I will buy one soon.

Picked up one of these at the store without even knowing about the effects. Was amazed at its character of sound and lightning fast comfortable playability. Was previously looking at a lower end Martin dread, but now I am seriously one of these. As you said, they are truly inspiring instruments. Yamaha makes gorgeous stuff!

Epiphone has made a lot of crap over the years, I think that lately the quality has improved.

Which Alvarez sounds the best?

Brand loyalty to a certain degree is driven by our need to justify the money we spent on that brand’s item… I know this but am not immune to it… on the flip side of that coin is a brand’s reputation for delivering a certain level of quality and value over time… one brand may deliver a superior level of quality and value, but only for the last 5 years… some will choose the superior product, some will choose an established product… as long as the person is happy with their purchase… happy with my little martin… happy with my Breedlove passport… hopefully I’ll be happy with my next guitar purchase!

It's all a matter of choice with strings. I have used d addario for over 40 years and they are good, however the Elixar phosporous bronze are a superior string! The choice is yours. The same with a guitar. It's what sounds best for you!

The d'addario strings are the only ones I use now. I play 3 hrs a day and get 2 months out of them. Cheers

I just priced the Boucher studio goose on Reverb. It's definitely more expensive than most D28's
